A veneer is a very thin layer of porcelain, similar to a finger nail, specifically fabricated in the dental laboratory for each individual tooth. As with all exclusively fabricated technical work, this process demands an extremely high degree of skill and artistic talent. The veneer is bonded onto the front surface of the tooth to improve its cosmetic appearance. Veneers can enhance the colour, close unsightly gaps or even change the shape of individual teeth.
